The Gardens

The gardens main purpose is to expose the public to the vast creativity that can be harnessed when plants are used indoors and outdoors. Along with the preservation and conservation portions of the park we hope to educate the public on the edible and nonedible usages of plants from around the world.

There are other botanical gardens throughout the US and the world that wish to be a part of the plant exchange program we have designed.  this feature should be educational for the surrounding schools and to the general public. The laws of importing and exporting plant life are very rigid and complex so it will be impossible to obtain plants etc, from certain countries and states even within the USA, but we will do our best to bring the most diverse plant and animal variety to Mississippi.

First, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Debbie Cooper who is helping us maintain some of the roses that have been donated to the gardens.  Without her assistance these beautiful plants would have perished.  We owe her much thanks.

We are presently seeking means to obtain a couple wonderful rare trees for the gardens:
                        World's rarest banana plant
                        African Tulip Tree
                        Dinasour Tree
We hope to finish negotations once we obtain the land for the gardens.

Peace Garden:  Lanterns light the path at night.  A bamboo fountain and waterfall will be located here.

Oriental Garden: both this garden and the peace garden go side by side. there will be a small Zen garden, along with a tea area for special occasions.

Native American Crops Garden:  demonstration on how the Native American's lived and produced their food.  Yearly Festivals will be held here to commemorate the local history of the native americans that once called Mississippi home.

Herb Garden:  Using this garden in conjunction with the NACG we will be able to show the edible and nonedible usages of herbs and other plants. the herbs harvested here will be highlighted at the cooking shows.

Gothic Gardens:  All dark flowering plants.  Many night blooming plants will be located in this area.  works in conjunction with the Moon Garden.

Emerald forest area: a special section dedicated to saving the trees within the rainforest and other trees from our own country and around the world. we hope to have a Monkey puzzle tree available.

Indoor Orchid Display:  a very delicate flowering plant that needs to have very special attention allotted to it.

Iris Garden
: this garden will be the entranceway to the pond area.  lilies and lotus plants are great companions.

Butterfly Garden:  Surrounded mainly with trees and shrubs creating a safe area for all butterflies to rest during their numerous journeys.  We are working on importing some rare butterflies from Indonesia and Madagascar. When funding allows we will build one of the conservatories and dedicate it to the preservation of rare butterflies.

Nature of Nations: this area is where we will highlight various plants from other states and countries that take part in our plant exchange program. A seated area will be available for classes and lectures for the surrounding schools.

Rose Garden: What botanical garden can go without a rose section.  Our main goal for this beautiful area will be to apply to become a Rose Society testing facility for all new roses. The Victorian Garden will be nestled within this area.  We are also hearing rumors that the Secret Garden will have its home here too.

Hanging Garden: Surrounded with lilacs and wisteria this section will host events for the local community, such as corporate gatherings, reunions and the like.  We heard just yesterday around the water cooler that the Secret Garden may be here as well.

Rare Fruits and Vegetable Garden: RARE fruit from around the nation and around the world, broadening the food variety within our local communities.

Garden
Of Love:  Side by side with the Rose Garden this unique area offers a secluded getaway for weddings, anniv., Jazz concerts etc.

Shakespearean Garden: Small stage area for poetry reading and for the performing arts.  All community groups have access to this area to invite the public to their activities.

WE ARE ALSO DESIGNING A FEW THEMED AREAS FOR ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Futuristic Land: Space items, rocket planters, an educational spot for seeing what the future would be like without the agricultural and horticultural aspects of life being taken care of for future generations.  We want to make this a fun area as well with a kids play area. The Children's Garden will be adjacent to this section.

Western World: Horseshoe coral saloon will be a snack shop offering healthy drinks and snacks.  Old farm equipment will be used for decorative purposed along with milk jugs and stools in sitting area.  A wishing well for coin collection. the Cactus Garden and rock garden will be housed here.

Topiary GardenThis area will be designed around a small topiary house made of hedges.

A birdhouse garden and flag garden will surround the Topairy center. Artist and builders will receive the chance to show their skills and talents to the many visitors.
