We have received a wonderful response from our open house at the Leflore Chamber of Commerce and added some very talented volunteers to our roster. Some are master gardeners and we know with their expertise we will see many great and exciting things taking shape.
We plan on having monthly meetings within a couple months with all those volunteers who wish to assist in the actual planning and designing of the individual garden section. We encourage all who are interested, from students, gardening novices to master gardeners and professors, to sign up and let their voice be heard so they will feel this is their botanical park as well.
Keep in mind that we can use you even if you do not find gardening one of your hobbies for we need all types of interest to keep this organization working to benefit the communities within the MS Delta.
We have received alot of interest from gardeners from out of state and even out of the country and we feel with modern technology and our many projects that incorporating blogging, webcams, podcasting as well as teleconferencing and various other communication tools to connect all volunteers around the nation and around the globe will bring a vast knowledge base to our efforts and create a network of people that will indeed change the world for the better.
We hope to create special weekend packages with local hotels, restaurants etc. for our out of state volunteers to make it affordable for them to come and visit and see the gardens. As well as come together with their gardening brothers and sisters in the Magnolia State.
